Dan Quesnel — The “Little Oak Evangelist”

From the brokenness of his early years to a life of faith and family rooted in Christ, Dan Quesnel’s story is one of redemption, endurance, and the transforming power of God’s love.

Dan gave his life to Jesus at just eleven years old. Growing up in a home scarred by war, alcoholism, and divorce, he experienced the pain of instability and loss at a young age. But even in those difficult years, God began to call him into a personal walk of faith. Dan found solace walking along the railroad tracks near his boyhood home, where he prayed, read scripture, and felt the presence of the Holy Spirit stir within him.

As his relationship with Christ deepened, Dan learned that following Jesus wasn’t about perfection but about surrender — trusting God’s strength to carry him through life’s challenges. Through prayer and scripture, he discovered that God’s love was real and personal. One verse that anchored his faith early on was 1 Peter 4:8: “Love will cover a multitude of sins.” This truth shaped his heart for compassion and inspired him to share that same love with others, no matter their background or beliefs.

In high school, his classmates nicknamed him “Reverend Turtle” because he carried his Bible everywhere he went. Known as a faithful encourager and friend, Dan often shared his faith with his Mormon and Jehovah’s Witness classmates, learning how to show Christ’s love across boundaries. Later, he attended Eastern Nazarene College and Word of Life Bible Institute — seasons of growth where God continued to teach him humility and perseverance, even through personal setbacks.

Dan’s spiritual journey took a defining turn when he met his first mentors, Pastor Keith and Denise Redell, a missionary couple from New Zealand. They took him under their wing, discipled him in ministry, and taught him how to build a godly marriage and serve faithfully in everyday life. Under their guidance in Hinesburg, Vermont, Dan began ministering to children and youth — a calling that would become central to his lifelong service.

After three years, God led Dan to Brockton, Massachusetts, where he would meet his future wife, Sharon, during a Christian conference in 1988. Their connection was instant, and through months of prayer and handwritten letters, God confirmed that Sharon was to be his wife. The two were married in 1989 and soon began a ministry partnership that would impact countless young lives.

Together, Dan and Sharon served faithfully in the Brockton area for many years, mentoring youth, leading church programs, and helping young people grow in their relationship with Christ. Many of the teens they poured into went on to become leaders and ministers themselves — a living testimony to the generational impact of discipleship.

Through every season, Dan’s heart has remained focused on one central truth: the gospel is about relationships. His ministry reflects the humility and compassion of Philippians 2:1–4, which calls believers to live in unity, love, and selflessness.

Today, as the host and founder of the Revival in New England podcast, Dan continues that mission — inspiring a movement of spiritual renewal across the region he calls home. Through authentic conversations, biblical teaching, and powerful testimonies, the podcast seeks to awaken hearts to God’s presence and remind listeners that revival begins not in a building or an event, but within the hearts of God’s people.

Dan also embraces the title “The Little Oak Evangelist” — a name that carries deep personal meaning. The word Quesnel is derived from French, meaning “little oak.” For Dan, it symbolizes strength rooted in humility — a reminder that even a small oak can stand firm, grow deep roots, and provide shade and refuge for others. It reflects his desire to be a steady, faithful witness of God’s love, no matter the size of the platform or the place of ministry.

Dan and Sharon now live in New England, where they continue to mentor others, serve their community, and share the message that has guided their entire journey:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves... Look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” — Philippians 2:3–4
